Here is a list of swing trading stocks currently forming trade setups. It is from this list that I decide which stocks to buy based on recent performance, quality of the trade setup, risk/reward, and profit potential.
Below is my watchlist for Contraction, Cup & Handle, and Rounded Bottom patterns (you may also see some Double Consolidations in there). I have also added a section at the end for Earnings Drift Strategy Plays. The earnings stocks are absolutely crushing it lately. Be sure to check out that section at the bottom.
This list was updated on December 2. The list is refreshed every one to two weeks if overall market conditions are favorable for trading. If conditions are not good, then the watchlist isn’t updated because I’m not trading.
The current state of the market: Health indicators are good and I am deploying capital on long swing trades.
My swing trading is based on: Overall market conditions (discussed above) –> strong/weak individual stocks for longs or shorts –> patterns –> trade triggers. This swing trading watchlist focuses on finding strong stocks that are forming the patterns I trade.
Current Swing Trading Watchlist – Contractions, Cup&Handles, Rounded Bottoms
Every week or two I run a scan using StockRover looking for stocks that are stronger than the S&P 500. The criteria may change slightly from week to week, based on how the S&P 500 has performed.
You can use another scanner if you wish, such as Finviz which is free. The exact scanning criteria don’t matter much. You just want a list of stocks that are stronger than the S&P 500.
This is not a “buy list”. It is simply the stocks I’m choosing from to make trades. Some are better than others. Not all will trigger a trade (the last element of the strategy).
Sometimes this scan doesn’t produce many trade candidates. You can also check out the Best Swing Trading Stocks List (which uses a different scanning method) for other swing trading opportunities in high-momentum stocks.
Current US Swing Trading Watchlist
178 stocks met the scan criteria below, up from 181 last week. Since I only trade certain patterns, that list has been narrowed to the stocks below. These are the ones I’ll be watching for trades in. A strikethrough on a symbol means I put the stock on the list because it looked ok at a glance, but upon closer inspection, I didn’t like it or the price action invalidated the pattern.
There are many stocks out there with similar patterns, so this list is basically a sampling of the trades out there. SO MANY. There may be more contraction patterns, but there were so many RBs that I was a little more fixated on those during scanning.

SLNO – RB
IMVT – RB
GSHD – RB (triggered, but not doing anything)
GWRE – RB (recently triggered, but earnings soon which may give another short.
DASH – RB, second entry
GTLB – RB, earnings Dec 4
SWBI – Contraction, earnings Dec. 7
TAST – RB (triggered, still near entry)
CBAY – RB (triggered, still near entry)
AMR – RB (didn’t get much a pullback so far, consolidation breaks have worked)
AVGO – Big RB
WFRD – Contracting
DELL – RB, just had earnings, so may setup now
Prior watchlist trades that triggered recently: APP (loss, may setup again) VRT, MDB, (earnings soon) COUR, IDYA FSS, COIN (may still get another pullback), DAKT, AEO (had to get out before earnings; small profit), WFRD (more an RB before, didn’t go anywhere, now contracting), NR (loss), VRNS, USM, AFRM, AKAM.
Current Canadain Swing Trading Watchlist
34 stocks met the scan criteria below, up from 31 last week. Since I only trade certain patterns, that list has been narrowed to the stocks below. These are the ones I will be watching for trades in.

AIDX.TO – Contraction already broke out. Potential RB entry if it keeps moving up
LAM.TO – RB
URC.TO – RB forming
CMG.TO – small RB
Prior watchlist trades that triggered recently: NXE.TO, FSY.TO (contraction then RB), GLXY.TO (only paused for two bars though, and brief pattern),

This is a list of stocks that had earnings in the last couple of weeks and that advanced strongly after earnings.
Here is the Earnings Drift Strategy list pre-loaded into Finviz so you can monitor the stock’s recent performance and watch for setups.

The following stocks had smaller pops on earnings, but still highly respectable.

Recent earnings watchlist stocks that have triggered: DDOG, AYX, DASH, PLTR (stopped out for nearly 5% profit), EXPE, FIGS, TGTX, SHOP, NVEI, DUOL, MQ, STNE, TGT, GPS, BURL
The Complete Method Stock Swing Trading Course covers my entire method of swing trading stocks, including where I enter, and place stop losses on all the patterns (RBs, contractions, and more). Now is a great time to review the material and prepare for the opportunities that are unfolding.
